Oral GLP-1 formulations require specific dosing conditions, typically taken on an empty stomach with a small amount of water, and waiting before eating or drinking, to ensure proper absorption.

Your consult and labs screen for all of the following.
- Not suitable for everyone, GLP-1 medications are not appropriate for patients with a personal or family history of certain thyroid cancers or MEN 2, among other exclusions your clinician will screen for.
- Strict dosing instructions, oral semaglutide must be taken on an empty stomach with a small amount of plain water, waiting before eating, drinking or taking other oral medications.
- Common side effects, include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation and decreased appetite, especially during dose increases.
- Live visit required, prescribed only after a live visit with a licensed clinician.
