Genova GI Effects Profile
A comprehensive stool analysis covering digestion, absorption, inflammation and the bacteria actually living in your gut.
A member of the care team speaks with you before anything is ordered. The price above is the full cost of the test — there is nothing to add later.

Mechanism
What is actually in there.
Most gut complaints are managed by elimination diets and guesswork. This panel measures instead: how well you are digesting fat and protein, whether there is inflammation, which organisms are present and in what proportion.
It also screens for pathogens, parasites and yeast overgrowth, so a treatable infection is not mistaken for a food intolerance.
The output is a set of measurements your provider reads against your symptoms. It is diagnostic work, and it usually shortens the trial-and-error.

Evidence
What the research shows.
Stool analysis is an established method for identifying maldigestion, inflammatory markers such as calprotectin, and pathogenic organisms.
Microbiome composition data is genuinely informative about diversity and overgrowth, and is a more cautious guide to intervention than direct-to-consumer reports imply.
Findings guide treatment; they do not by themselves constitute a diagnosis.
Results vary. Clinical trial results apply only to the FDA-approved branded medication specifically identified and do not apply to compounded medications. All medications must be prescribed by a licensed provider based on medical necessity.
Safety and eligibility
Your consult and labs screen for all of the following.
- Tell your provider about recent antibiotics — they distort the result for weeks.
- Not for acute illness. Severe or bloody diarrhoea needs urgent in-person care, not a posted kit.
- Interpretation matters. Raw microbiome data is easy to over-read; a provider reviews yours.

At home, in private, using the kit posted to you. It takes a few minutes and returns by prepaid mail.
Microbiomix adds DNA sequencing of the microbiome, giving a far more detailed species-level picture. Start here unless your provider suggests otherwise.
Not directly. It tells your provider what is happening, which makes dietary advice specific rather than generic.
